Deco through Dance transforms The Wolfsonian–FIU into a stage where Miami's Art Deco soul comes alive through movement. Part dance performance, part guided tour, this research-oriented work pairs the choreography of Liony Garcia with sculptural garments by Fernando Garcia and historical insight from art and architectural historian Fredo Rivera. As dancers move among the museum's lobby, audiences are invited to feel the lines, curves, and character of the city's iconic deco architecture — a living portrait of Miami's architecture rendered through the body, and the product of a cohesive collaboration among artists and institutions devoted to the city's unique cultural character.
